Course Description
This course provides an in-depth exploration of the rich historical heritage of Azerbaijan. It examines major events, periods and processes, from ancient civilizations and medieval empires to modern statehood and cultural exchanges, that have shaped the national identity of the Azerbaijani people. Drawing on the scholarly interpretation of primary sources, the course offers a comprehensive understanding of Azerbaijan’s historical evolution and its impact on contemporary society. Key themes include political formations, socio-economic transformations, cultural achievements, and the role of Azerbaijan in regional and global contexts. The course aims to foster in future teachers a strong civic identity and respect for national values, as well as the capacity to critically analyze the country’s deep historical roots, cultural heritage, material culture, literature and arts.
