Why Study Arts at QU?

At the School of Arts of Qarabağ University, the educational process is focused on developing practical knowledge and skills. During their studies, students gain not only theoretical knowledge but also the opportunity to participate in exhibitions and acquire stage experience.

For the 2026–2027 academic year, the School of Arts offers a wide and diverse range of specializations. In the field of music, admissions are planned for music education (piano, flute, oboe, clarinet, bassoon, horn, trumpet, trombone, percussion, violin, viola, cello, double bass, tar, kamancha, saz, nagara, qanun, balaban, accordion), instrumental performance (piano, flute, oboe, clarinet, bassoon, horn, trumpet, trombone, percussion, violin, viola, cello, double bass, organ, guitar, tar, kamancha, saz, nagara, qanun, balaban), vocal arts (traditional singing and classical vocal), musicology, composition, and conducting (choral conducting). Admissions are also open for architecture (restoration and reconstruction of architectural monuments, architecture), design (interior, graphic, and fashion design), decorative and applied arts (textile weaving, ceramics, artistic glass), and painting. This provides students with the opportunity to choose between both traditional and contemporary directions of art.

The teaching process is built on modern approaches. Individual and theoretical classes are conducted in 90-minute sessions, allowing students to study topics in depth. Theoretical courses are taught using modern literature and methodologies, drawing on the experience of foreign universities.

Students are not limited to the classroom. Azerbaijani national instruments and chamber orchestras, as well as a choir, allow students to gain stage experience, expand their repertoire, and develop the ability to work collaboratively. Students in design and decorative-applied arts actively participate in exhibitions, presenting their work to a wider audience. Outdoor classes also contribute to the development of observational skills and creative thinking.

The School of Arts regularly invites professional guests from various fields, organizing seminars and masterclasses. These events strengthen students’ connection to the real-world art environment. Additionally, a three-semester English language program enables students to master art terminology and work more comfortably in an international context.

Qarabağ University’s School of Arts is a space where tradition meets modernity, theory meets practice, and creativity meets professionalism.
