It All Begins Here!
Qarabağ University was established by the Decree of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan on November 28, 2023, marking a historic milestone in the revival of the Garabagh region of Azerbaijan.
Located in Khankendi, the University operates as a public legal entity under the authority of the Ministry of Science and Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan. It was founded with a clear mission: to serve as a center of learning, research, and innovation that contributes to regional renewal and national progress.
The Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Azerbaijan approved the Charter of Qarabağ University on February 6, 2024, providing the institutional framework for its academic, administrative, and governance structures.
On September 20, 2024, President Ilham Aliyev attended the University’s opening ceremony and met with faculty and students, marking the official launch of Qarabağ University. The ceremony reflected the institution’s ambition to serve as a hub for knowledge and research.
Qarabağ University began its first academic year on September 23, 2024, with 1,154 students across six schools, and 27 academic programs. From its first day, the University has been committed to providing a modern, student-centered learning environment that combines strong academic foundations with real-world relevance.
