Frequently Asked Questions
Can I pick my roommate(s)?
Yes. At the start of the academic year, students may request specific roommate preferences. While we do our best to accommodate these requests, placement is subject to availability and University housing guidelines.
Tip:
Consider letting the University assign your roommate. This can help you meet new people while staying connected with your friends — a great way to grow your social circle from the start.
Can I request a room change if I feel uncomfortable with my roommates?
Yes. Students may request a room change if they experience difficulties with their roommates. Requests are reviewed on a case-by-case basis and are subject to availability and University housing policies. We encourage students to contact the dormitory administration as soon as possible so we can help find an appropriate solution.
One room change per academic year is permitted at no cost. Any additional change requests will be subject to administrative fees.
Are dormitory buildings gender-separated?
Yes. Dormitory buildings (comprising all blocks within the same building) are gender-separated, and all rooms are designated for either female or male students to ensure a comfortable and appropriate living environment.
Are there cafeterias and meal plans available in the dormitories?
Yes, there are several dining options available in the dormitories. You can choose one of the meal plans offered at the dormitories. They cost between 210-280 manats per month depending on the frequency of the provided meals. Contact [email protected] for more details. You can also choose to purchase meals as you go without signing up for meal plans.
Can I live in a single room?
Currently, we do not offer any single-occupancy rooms. All students live in four to eight students per apartments, usually 2-3 beds in a single bedroom.
Can I bring a guest to my room?
No. Guests are not permitted in student rooms.
What are the quiet hours in the dormitory?
Quiet hours are observed from 22:00 to 07:00 to ensure a comfortable environment for all residents. Common areas may be used for study and educational purposes at any time, including overnight.
What should I do if I lose my key?
Lost keys must be reported immediately to the Registration Office. A replacement key will be issued, and a 25 AZN fee applies for lost or damaged keys.
Can I redesign my room?

What are the rules regarding alcohol and smoking?
Alcohol
The possession or consumption of alcohol is strictly prohibited in dormitory rooms and throughout the dormitory premises, including common areas, corridors, lounges, and outdoor spaces. Entering the dormitory while under the influence of alcohol is also not permitted. Any violations of this policy will result in disciplinary action.
Smoking

Designated smoking areas are available outdoors in specifically assigned locations within the dormitory grounds. Students who smoke inside the building will be subject to fines.
Are pets allowed in the dormitory?
No. Pets are not permitted in the dormitory. Bringing any animals into student housing will result in a fine.
What are the noise rules in the dormitory?

How should common areas be used?
