School of Medicine and Health Sciences

Why study medicine at QU?

Studying at Qarabağ University means joining an academically ambitious and internationally aligned environment designed to prepare future leaders in healthcare professions. From the outset, our school has been structured in line with contemporary best practices in health professions education.

Our education model is aligned with contemporary global standards in health professions education and built on several core principles. These principles include a competency-based, integrated spiral curriculum, early and longitudinal clinical exposure, interprofessional education beginning from Day 1, and the integration of clinical and community-based learning. The curriculum is organized across five interdisciplinary pillars that run throughout the program:

Foundations (Science), Skills, Community-Based Education, Research, and Arts and Humanities.

Together, these pillars support the balanced development of scientific knowledge, clinical competence, research capability, systems awareness, and professional identity. The program takes a strategic approach to simulation and digital learning.

Simulation-based activities provide safe and structured environments in which students can develop and apply clinical and professional skills. Digital platforms extend learning beyond the classroom and clinical setting through interactive, flexible, and student-centered formats.

Together, these components are integrated across the curriculum to enrich the learning experience, promote active engagement, and strengthen the connection between theory and practice.
