Background
Dr. Ramin Fatullayev is a historian and a lecturer at our university. He holds a BA (2006-2010) and MA (2012-2014) in History from Baku State University and a PhD in History from Akdeniz University (2015-2022). He also conducted doctoral research at the University of Cologne (2017-2018).
He has an academic background in modern history and international relations, with teaching experience at Baku State University, Western Caspian University and Khazar University, where he delivered courses on Modern History of Azerbaijan, Soviet History and Modern History of Turkic Peoples. His doctoral research focuses on Soviet foreign policy toward Türkiye between 1923 and 1940, examining regional power dynamics, ideological influences and diplomatic strategies.

Research Interests
His research focuses on modern Azerbaijani history, the history of the Republic of Türkiye, Soviet history and regional dynamics in the Caucasus. His publications include “Soviet Orientalism and Congress of the Peoples of the East” (Reconstructing the Past: Journal of Historical Studies, 2023) and “Azerbaycan Sovyet Sosyalist Cumhuriyeti’nin Türkiye Temsilcilikleri” (Genel Türk Tarihi Araştırmaları Dergisi, 2022).
