Background

Urfan Aliyev received his Bachelor's degree in Mathematics in 2021 and his Master's degree in 2023, both with honors. Since 2025, he has been pursuing a part-time PhD in Probability Theory at Baku State University.

He is currently continuing his research activities within the framework of the doctoral program.

He has been engaged in teaching activities at leading higher education institutions in the country. He has taught Probability Theory and Mathematical Statistics at the Faculty of Natural Sciences and Engineering of Khazar University and at the Faculty of Applied Mathematics and Cybernetics of Baku State University.

He is the author of more than 10 scientific publications and has participated in several research projects.

His scientific activity is focused on the theory of stochastic processes.

  • Study of probabilistic characteristics of stochastic processes
  • Ergodic theory of stochastic processes with discrete interference of chance
  • Study of tail behavior of stochastic processes within the classes of light-tailed and heavy-tailed distributions
