Latafat Rahimova
Background
Latifa Rahimova was born on 11 February 1960 in Shusha, Azerbaijan. She began her formal education in 1967 at Secondary School No. 2 in Shusha. In 1976, she was admitted to the Music College in Khankendi (formerly Stepanakert), Faculty of Music Theory, where she specialized in music theory and pedagogy, graduating in 1980 as a qualified music theory and general subjects teacher.
She began her professional career at the Shusha Boarding School and later taught theoretical disciplines at the Shusha Cultural-Educational Technical School and the M.M. Navvab Music College. In 1988, she entered the History and Theory Faculty of the Uzeyir Hajibeyov Azerbaijan State Conservatory and completed her studies in 1993. She subsequently pursued postgraduate studies, graduating in 2003.
Following the events of 1992, she relocated to Baku as an internally displaced person and continued her pedagogical activities in various music institutions. Throughout her career, Rahimova has contributed to the development of music education in Azerbaijan through her long-standing academic and teaching work.
