Background
Kanan Aghasiyev has been serving as an Instructor at Karabakh University since 2025. He is also a PhD candidate and researcher in English Language and Literature at Karabük University.
He completed both his bachelor’s and master’s degrees at Karabük University (Türkiye). During his studies, he participated in the Erasmus+ program and pursued academic experiences in Germany, Malta, and Bosnia and Herzegovina.
He earned his master’s degree in 2024. As part of the Erasmus+ program, he also undertook an academic exchange at Maurer Press in Frankfurt am Main, Germany, where he currently serves as an Academic Advisor and Assistant Editor.
His doctoral research examines the application of Critical Disability Studies in contemporary British drama, while his master’s thesis focused on postcolonial feminist approaches in the works of Andrea Levy and Zadie Smith.
Since 2024, he has been the editor of the book series Contemporary Studies on Language and Literature and Assistant Editor of the journal Alma Mater – Zeitschrift für interdisziplinäre Kulturforschungen. He has authored nearly 50 academic publications, presented at international conferences across Turkey and Europe, and was awarded a Certificate of Achievement for his scholarly publications by Karabük University in 2025.
