Course Description

This course is designed to provide students specializing in vocal performance with systematic knowledge of the physiological structure of the human voice, the functioning of the vocal apparatus, and the scientific and biological foundations of vocal performance. Within the instructional framework, the respiratory system, the function of the vocal cords, resonators, articulation organs, and their roles in vocal sound production are explained on a scientific basis.
The course aims to develop students’ conscious approach to proper voice care, rational distribution of vocal load, maintenance of vocal health, prevention of voice disorders, and vocal hygiene. In addition, issues related to vocal registers, timbral characteristics, expansion of vocal range, and identification of individual voice types are studied from both theoretical and practical perspectives.
