Course Description

This course is aimed at developing vocal performance skills based on musical notation for students specializing in traditional vocal performance (khananda singing). It focuses on strengthening music reading abilities and enhancing overall performance culture through systematic practice.
Within the instructional process, students learn to accurately read musical notation, follow melodic lines precisely, and maintain intonational stability and rhythmic accuracy. The course includes systematic work on the Azerbaijani song and romance repertoire, with analysis of modal–intonational characteristics, melodic development logic, and artistic-emotional content.
Special attention is given to the development of proper breath distribution, phrasing, diction, and articulation skills during the sight-singing process.
