Course Description
This course focuses on the theory and design of structural elements composed of concrete and steel reinforcement. The curriculum covers the fundamental behavior of reinforced concrete under axial, bending, shear, and torsional loads. Students learn to design and detail beams, slabs, columns, and foundations according to international building codes. The course emphasizes limit state design principles, durability requirements, and the bonding interaction between steel and concrete. By the end of the semester, students will be capable of performing structural calculations and creating technical drawings for safe and sustainable reinforced concrete buildings and infrastructure.
