Course Description

This course provides a comprehensive study of phonetics, focusing on the sound system of the Azerbaijani literary language. Topics include speech sounds, phonemes, intonation, stress, syllables, assimilation, prosody, and the principles of the harmony system.
Students learn articulatory, acoustic, and auditory phonetics; practice phonetic transcription; and analyze real speech samples. The course also reinforces knowledge of orthographic and orthoepic rules, enabling future teachers to identify and explain phonetic phenomena accurately in educational contexts.
