Course Description
This course introduces the core concepts of stylistics and focuses on analyzing linguistic and literary style in English texts. Students explore how language choices in different genres and contexts shape meaning, tone, and overall effect. Topics include principles of literary analysis, stylistic devices such as metaphor, simile, imagery, and irony, as well as discourse analysis and the relationship between language and literature. Through discussions and practical tasks, students develop the ability to identify and interpret stylistic features in both literary and non-literary texts. Special emphasis is placed on applying stylistic analysis to language evaluation, interpretation, and the enhancement of language-teaching strategies.
