Course Description

This course introduces students to the scientific study of language, with emphasis on the structure and use of the Azerbaijani language. Students explore foundational areas of linguistics, including phonetics, phonology, morphology, syntax, semantics, and sociolinguistics. Through linguistic analysis exercises, discussions, and applied tasks, learners develop a solid understanding of how language functions as a system and as a social phenomenon. The course also examines the relationship between language and cognition, culture, and society, preparing future educators to apply linguistic knowledge in teaching and language analysis.
