Course Description
This course is a fundamental academic discipline that examines the stages of cultural development of human civilization through visual arts. It covers artistic periods, movements, aesthetic principles, and creative methods from ancient times through the Renaissance.
The course aims to provide students with a systematic understanding of the historical development of world art, its social, cultural, and philosophical contexts, and the similarities and differences among artistic phenomena of various periods. Students analyze artistic movements, styles, and techniques, explore artists’ creative principles and technologies, and examine the interaction between artworks and their historical and cultural environments.
Additionally, the course develops students’ critical thinking and analytical skills by encouraging contextual analysis of artworks within social, cultural, religious, and ideological frameworks.
