Course Description

This course provides an in-depth exploration of Azerbaijan’s rich historical and cultural heritage. Students examine major events, civilizations, and cultural transformations that have shaped the nation — from ancient settlements and medieval empires to modern statehood and global engagement. Using primary sources and scholarly interpretations, the course analyzes political structures, socio-economic changes, cultural achievements, and Azerbaijan’s evolving role in regional and international contexts.
The course also aims to nurture responsible citizenship by helping future teachers understand and appreciate national values, historical continuity, cultural identity, and the country’s tangible and intangible heritage.
