Course Description
This course introduces students to cytology, one of the fundamental branches of biology, focusing on the structure and function of the cell as the basic unit of life. Topics include the general organization of the cell, membrane structures and their functions, cytoplasmic organelles, the nucleus, and genetic material. Students explore key intracellular molecular processes such as energy transformation, enzyme activity, and the structure and functional properties of proteins, lipids, carbohydrates, and nucleic acids. Through a combination of theoretical instruction and laboratory practice, the course aims to develop students’ understanding of core biological concepts at the cellular level and strengthen their ability to apply these concepts in experimental settings.
