Background

Murad Abasov is an Azerbaijani concert pianist born in 1998 in Baku, Azerbaijan.
He received his early musical education at the Special Music School-Studio of the Uzeyir
Hajibeyli Baku Music Academy and later continued his studies at the State University of
Music Trossingen in Germany, graduating with highest distinction and completing advanced
postgraduate studies.
He is a laureate of numerous international piano competitions.
In 2010, he was awarded the Medal of the Moscow State Tchaikovsky Conservatory and
received a special diploma presented by UNESCO.
Over the years, he has won top prizes at major international competitions held in Germany,
Italy, Turkey, Bulgaria, China, and Azerbaijan.
As a soloist with orchestra, he has performed Franz Liszt’s Piano Concerto in Azerbaijan and
Edvard Grieg’s Piano Concerto with the Residenz-Orchester Baden-Württemberg in
Germany.
His concert career includes solo recitals and concerto performances in Germany, Italy,
Turkey, Poland, France, China, Luxembourg, and Azerbaijan.
Between 2019 and 2025, he taught piano at the State Music Schools of Horb and Ulm in
Germany.
In Luxembourg, he conducted masterclasses and performed as a soloist within official
concert programs.
He currently works as a lecturer at the Faculty of Arts of Karabakh University.
