Eytiram Huseynov
Background
Eytiram Huseynov was born on 18 October 1980 in the village of Hacısamlı, Lachin district. He began his primary education in his native village; however, following the occupation of Lachin in 1992, he continued his studies in Baku. From an early age, he demonstrated a strong interest in mugham and received his initial musical training within the Aghdam Mugham School. In 1994–1995, he commenced his stage career as a member of the “Banovsha” Children’s Choir of the Azerbaijan State Television and Radio Broadcasting Company.
In 1997, Huseynov enrolled at the Asaf Zeynalli Music College, where he received professional training in the art of mugham performance. In 2007, he became a laureate of the national “Mugham” Television Competition organized with the support of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation. He later pursued advanced studies at the Azerbaijan National Conservatory, earning a Master’s degree in solo singing (khananda performance).
Since 2011, Huseynov has gained international recognition, performing at the United Nations in New York and at the Niagara International Music Festival in Canada, and winning the International Mugham Competition. He has represented Azerbaijani mugham across Europe, Asia, Africa, and the Americas. He has been awarded the honorary titles of Honored Artist of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic (2015) and Honored Artist of the Republic of Azerbaijan (2017). He currently serves as a faculty member at Karabakh University.
