Background

Ayaz Imranov was born in 1973 in the Lachin region of Azerbaijan. Between 1989 and 1993,
he studied tar performance at the Mir Movsum Navvab Music College in Shusha. In 1998, he
entered the Azerbaijan National Conservatory, graduating with a Bachelor’s degree in 2004
and completing his Master’s degree with distinction in 2005.
He began his pedagogical career in 1993 and has worked as a tar instructor at various music
schools. Between 1998 and 2000, he performed internationally together with People’s
Artist Alim Gasimov, contributing to the promotion of Azerbaijani mugham and traditional
tar performance.
Throughout his professional career, many of his students have become laureates of national
and international competitions, and several have received Presidential scholarships. In
2009, he was awarded an Honorary Diploma for his contribution to cultural and educational
activities.
He currently works as a lecturer at the Faculty of Arts of Karabakh University.
