Aida Huseynova
Background
Aida Huseynova was born on April 3, 1955, in Baku, Azerbaijan. Between 1970
and 1974, she studied at the Asaf Zeynalli Secondary Specialized Music School,
majoring in piano, and graduated with honors.
From 1974 to 1979, she pursued her higher education at the Uzeyir Hajibeyli
Azerbaijan State Conservatory, Faculty of Piano Performance, in the class of
Professor Elmira Safarova.
Between 1979 and 1982, she worked as a piano instructor at the Shamakhi
Children’s Music School. Since 1982, she has been engaged in academic
activity at the Azerbaijan State Pedagogical University, Department of
Musical Instruments.
Between 1989 and 1993, she completed postgraduate studies in music
teaching methodology. In 2010, she defended her PhD dissertation in
Pedagogy (Theory and Methodology of Education – Methods of Teaching Music).
Since 2013, she has held the position of Associate Professor and serves
as Deputy Head of the Instrumental Performance Department.
She is the author of nearly 50 scientific and methodological works and
has regularly participated in national and international conferences.
In 2024, she was awarded the “Anniversary Medal of the Republic of Azerbaijan”
by the Ministry of Science and Education on the occasion of the 100th
anniversary of the Azerbaijan State Pedagogical University.
