Course Description
This course teaches the role and function of warehousing in the logistics system, principles of warehouse design and layout, and types of inventory and their classification. It covers inventory management models (e.g., EOQ, JIT), methods for determining optimal stock levels, and inventory control techniques such as ABC analysis. The course introduces modern warehouse technologies including automation, mechanized equipment, and Warehouse Management Systems (WMS). It also examines processes related to receiving, storage, order picking, and shipping. Furthermore, it focuses on inventory accuracy, cost analysis, and optimization of warehouse operations for efficiency and cost reduction. The course develops students' abilities to plan, organize, and manage effective inventory and warehousing processes and to apply analytical tools for strategic decision-making.
