Course Description
This course teaches the fundamental principles of national and international transport law, covering the legal framework governing cargo, passenger, and vehicle operations. It examines contractual relationships between shippers, carriers, and forwarders, and the legal aspects of transport documentation (e.g., bills of lading, consignment notes). The curriculum focuses on carrier liability and responsibility for loss, damage, or delay, governed by conventions like CMR, Hague-Visby, and Montreal Convention. It also covers the legal regulation of transport safety, environmental standards, and licensing. Furthermore, it studies the dispute resolution mechanisms in transport, including arbitration and litigation, and the legal issues related to multimodal transport and customs law. The course develops students' abilities to analyze legal situations, ensure compliance with transport regulations, and manage legal risks in logistics activities.
