Course Description
This course introduces students to the principles of translation and consists of two main components: written translation and oral interpretation. In the written component, students learn to translate various text types accurately and with appropriate style. The oral component focuses on consecutive and simultaneous interpreting, including real-time translation of dialogues and speeches. Throughout the course, students explore translation strategies, linguistic equivalence, intercultural aspects, and specialized domains such as legal, medical, and literary translation. Through practical exercises and analysis of examples, they develop the skills needed to translate both written texts and spoken discourse effectively. Special emphasis is placed on the role of translation in facilitating intercultural communication in professional contexts.
