[MEX 301] Theory of Machines and Mechanisms
Instruction Language
Azerbaijani
Course Description
This course focuses on the study of relative motion between the parts of a machine and the forces which act on those parts. The curriculum covers the kinematics of linkages, cam profiles, and gear trains, along with the synthesis of mechanisms to achieve specific motion paths. Students explore static and dynamic force analysis, balancing of rotating masses, and the principles of flywheels and governors. The course emphasizes the conversion of energy into useful work through mechanical assemblies. By the end of the semester, students will be capable of analyzing the velocity and acceleration of complex mechanical systems, ensuring that machines operate smoothly, efficiently, and without excessive vibration in industrial and automotive applications.
