In this clinical block, students learn the fundamental principles of surgical diseases, pre-operative and postoperative care, aseptic–antiseptic techniques, and infection control methods. They apply core professional skills such as wound care, pain management, and maintaining a sterile working environment.
Additionally, students observe surgical procedures, document clinical findings, and develop introductory research and quality-assessment skills. Instruction integrates relevant knowledge and competencies from Pharmacology, Foundations of Nursing, Emergency Nursing, Nursing Management, Surgical Nursing, Anaesthesiology and Resuscitation, Radiology, and Public Health.
