Course Description
This course teaches the classification and identification of risks within the supply chain, including operational, financial, political, and environmental risks. It covers methods for risk assessment, quantification, and analysis, using tools like FMEA (Failure Mode and Effects Analysis). The curriculum focuses on developing and implementing risk mitigation strategies such as diversification, dual sourcing, and inventory buffering. It introduces concepts of supply chain resilience and business continuity planning for rapid recovery from disruptions. Furthermore, the course addresses the role of information technology in monitoring risks, predictive analytics, and establishing early warning systems within the global supply network. The course develops students' abilities to proactively manage risks, ensure supply chain reliability, and enhance organizational resilience against unforeseen events.
