[MRM 307] Structural Synthesis of Robotic Systems
Instruction Language
Azerbaijani
Course Type
Elective - Block 3
Course Description
This course focuses on the systematic methods for designing the physical architecture and topological structure of robotic systems to meet specific functional requirements. The curriculum covers the selection of kinematic chains, degrees of freedom (DoF), and the optimal arrangement of joints and links. Students explore the synthesis of mechanisms based on Gruebler’s criterion, task-space analysis, and structural optimization for precision and payload capacity. The course emphasizes the integration of modular components and the evaluation of workspace reachability and singularity avoidance. By the end of the semester, students will be capable of synthesizing innovative robotic structures tailored for diverse applications, from high-speed pick-and-place industrial robots to complex humanoid and bio-inspired systems, ensuring mechanical efficiency and structural integrity.
