Elective - Block 2
Course Description
This advanced course focuses on the analysis of statically indeterminate structures, where equilibrium equations alone are insufficient. The curriculum covers the force method, the displacement method, and the moment distribution method for analyzing complex frames, continuous beams, and arches. Students explore matrix structural analysis and the application of computer-based methods for calculating structural responses. The course emphasizes the influence of temperature changes, support settlements, and fabrication errors on structural stability. By the end of the semester, students will be capable of determining internal forces and deflections in sophisticated systems, ensuring safety and performance in large-scale civil engineering projects.
