Course Description
This course provides a mathematical framework for analyzing the interaction between signals and physical systems, which is fundamental to all engineering disciplines. The curriculum covers the classification of continuous-time and discrete-time signals, linear time-invariant (LTI) systems, and the concept of convolution. Students explore essential transform techniques, including the Fourier Transform, Laplace Transform, and Z-transform, to analyze signals in the frequency domain. The course emphasizes key system properties such as stability, causality, and frequency response. Through theoretical analysis and computational exercises, students learn how signals are filtered, sampled, and transmitted. This knowledge is critical for specializing in telecommunications, control engineering, and digital signal processing, enabling students to design and optimize complex information-carrying systems and automated processes.
