Course Description
This course explores the strategies and algorithms used to regulate the behavior of robotic systems to achieve precise motion and force execution. The curriculum focuses on the implementation of feedback and feedforward control laws, including PID control, computed torque control, and sliding mode control. Students study trajectory tracking, impedance control for human-robot interaction, and the challenges of controlling non-linear robot dynamics. The course emphasizes the use of real-time operating systems and software environments to interface controllers with hardware. By the end of the semester, students will be capable of designing robust control architectures that ensure stability, accuracy, and safety in autonomous vehicles, industrial manipulators, and collaborative robots operating in dynamic environments.
