Course Description
This course examines the scientific, technological, and artistic foundations of the design project development process in the fields of interior design, graphic design, and fashion (clothing) design. The Project Design course enables students to apply the theoretical principles of design in practical activities and systematically study all creative stages of the design process, from conceptual development to final realization.
The course covers the key stages of project development in various design fields—interior, graphic, and fashion design—including planning principles, technical and aesthetic criteria, and the interrelationship between form, function, and material. Students learn all phases of the design process, beginning with the formation of a project concept and continuing through visual presentation and implementation.
The primary objective of the course is to develop students’ comprehensive theoretical and practical knowledge of the design project creation process. The course also integrates contemporary technologies—such as AutoCAD, SketchUp, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, CLO 3D, CorelDRAW, and others—into the design workflow, thereby enhancing students’ digital design competencies.
Project Design serves as a core discipline that fosters professional design thinking by combining creative and scientific approaches. By integrating conceptual, aesthetic, and technological aspects of design, the course enables students to perceive the design process holistically, from idea generation to realization. As a result, the course establishes a strong theoretical foundation and practical skill set that prepare future designers to develop innovative, aesthetically refined, and functionally effective projects in their professional practice.
