Course Description

This course focuses on the automation of industrial processes to maintain production efficiency and safety. The curriculum covers the mathematical modeling of chemical, thermal, and mechanical processes. Students explore the operation of sensors, final control elements like valves, and the implementation of PID control loops. The course emphasizes stability analysis, tuning methods, and the use of Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) and Distributed Control Systems (DCS). By the end of the semester, students will be able to design and optimize control strategies for complex industrial environments such as refineries and manufacturing plants.
