Course Description
This course covers the technical principles of transporting electrical energy from generation plants to end-users. The curriculum explores the design of transmission lines, substations, and distribution networks, focusing on voltage regulation and efficiency. Students analyze parameters such as line impedance, capacitance, and the skin effect, alongside power loss mitigation strategies. The course emphasizes load flow analysis, short-circuit calculations, and the integration of smart grid technologies. By the end of the semester, students will understand the structural and operational challenges of maintaining reliable and stable power grids in modern infrastructure.
