Course Description

This block provides hands-on experience in the clinical observation, treatment and prevention of diseases in children and adolescents. It promotes team-oriented, empathic and ethical behavior in individual, family and community-based pediatric care.

In Pediatrics, students strengthen skills in daily monitoring, adjustment of pharmacotherapy, vaccination and evaluation of disease prognosis.

In Resuscitation, they apply principles of neonatal and pediatric emergency care, including airway management and support of vital functions.

In Family Medicine, emphasis is placed on cooperative decision-making and preventive counselling in partnership with families and community services.
