Course Description

In this clinical block, students study women’s reproductive health, as well as the physiology and pathology of pregnancy and childbirth. They acquire professional skills related to maternal and child health, intrapartum and postpartum care, and reproductive-health education.
Alongside primary-care–level observation and data collection, students also develop research and quality-improvement skills. Instruction incorporates relevant competencies from Pharmacology, Foundations of Nursing, Obstetric and Gynecologic Nursing, Pediatric Nursing, Family Medicine Nursing, Emergency Nursing, and Public Health.
