Course Description
This course introduces algorithmic techniques for solving mathematical problems that lack exact analytical solutions. The curriculum focuses on root-finding methods, numerical differentiation, and integration. Students investigate linear system solvers, such as Gaussian elimination, and techniques for approximating functions through interpolation and least-squares regression. The course emphasizes error analysis, stability, and the convergence of iterative processes. By the end of the semester, students will be capable of implementing robust numerical algorithms in computer software to solve complex engineering simulations and scientific models, providing a vital bridge between theoretical math and practical computation.
