Course Description
This course explores the development and analysis of algorithms for obtaining numerical solutions to mathematical problems where exact analytical solutions are difficult or impossible to find. The curriculum covers error analysis, root-finding algorithms, and systems of linear equations. Students study numerical integration, differentiation, and the approximation of functions using interpolation and splines. The course emphasizes computational efficiency and the stability of numerical methods. By the end of the semester, students will be capable of implementing these algorithms in programming environments to solve complex engineering simulations and real-world physical modeling problems.
