A scientific article co-authored by Elkhan Gurbanli, a lecturer at the Faculty of Business and Economics of Qarabağ University and PhD in Economics, has been published in the reputable BMC Psychology journal, published in the United Kingdom and ranked in the Q1 quartile of the Scopus database. The article is titled “The mediating role of job and life satisfaction in the effect of psychological resilience on employee performance: evidence from the February 6 Kahramanmaraş (Türkiye) earthquakes.”
Within the framework of the study, the mediating roles of job satisfaction (JS) and life satisfaction (LS) in the relationship between psychological resilience (PR) and employee performance (EP) were analyzed. Empirical data were collected through surveys conducted among social service workers operating in regions affected by the 2023 Kahramanmaraş earthquakes and were analyzed using SPSS and SmartPLS.
The findings of the study indicate that psychological resilience has a positive and statistically significant effect on employee performance, job satisfaction, and life satisfaction. While job satisfaction has a significant impact on employee performance, no significant effect was found for life satisfaction in this regard. According to the results of the mediation analysis, job satisfaction plays a mediating role in the relationship between psychological resilience and employee performance, whereas life satisfaction does not demonstrate such a role.
These findings further confirm that job satisfaction is one of the key mechanisms in enhancing employee performance.
