Samir Babayev, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences at Karabakh University and Chief Executive Director of the Karabakh University Clinic, has been appointed as Associate Editor of Human Reproduction Open, a journal published by Oxford University Press in the United Kingdom.

Human Reproduction Open is one of the leading scientific journals in the field of reproductive medicine and is affiliated with the European Society of Human Reproduction and Embryology (ESHRE). The journal’s 2024 Impact Factor stands at 11.1, ranking 2nd among 141 journals in the field of Obstetrics and Gynecology in the Web of Science (SCIE) database, and 2nd among 210 journals according to Scopus (CiteScore).

S. Babayev is an ABOG-certified specialist in reproductive endocrinology and infertility and has previously worked at the Mayo Clinic. His research interests include ovarian tissue cryopreservation, oocyte and embryo quality, as well as innovative approaches in reproductive surgery.

This appointment represents a significant milestone in expanding the international academic presence and scientific collaborations of Karabakh University.
