On February 25, 2026, Karabakh University hosted the presentation ceremony of the monograph entitled “Issues of a Common Alphabet, Orthography, and Literary Language at the First Turkological Congress,” authored by Elchin Ibrahimov, Doctor of Philology and Head of the Science Department, and published by decision of the University’s Academic Council.

During the presentation, the Rector of Karabakh University, Shahin Bayramov, delivered a speech highly evaluating the scientific significance of the publication. He emphasized the relevance of the work for the field of Turkology and highlighted its contribution to the systematic study of linguistic issues. S. Bayramov also noted that the publication of such a fundamental study by Karabakh University represents a significant milestone for the institution.

In his remarks, Azizaga Najafov, Head of the Department of Philology, stated that the monograph creates a discourse that bridges historical heritage with modernity, while also offering theoretically and practically grounded recommendations for the shared future of Turkic peoples.

A. Najafov further underlined that the scholarly quality of the research is evidenced by the author’s extensive use of sources. The work is based on 316 references in Azerbaijani, Turkish, and Russian, including archival materials, as well as comprehensive comparative analyses.

The author of the monograph, Elchin Ibrahimov, expressed his gratitude for the attention and appreciation shown, noting that contributing such a work to both the history of Karabakh University and the legacy of the First Turkological Congress is a source of great pride for him.

It should be noted that Karabakh University is undertaking significant steps toward organizing a series of scientific and academic events dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the First Turkological Congress.
