Karabakh University researcher develops innovative method to transform plant waste into valuable products
A research article co-authored by Dr. Səbinə Cəfərzadə, Head of the Biology Laboratory at the Faculty of Education, Karabakh University, has been published in the Scopus-indexed, Q2 journal International Journal of Agriculture and Biosciences.
Titled “A Targeted Fungal Bioconversion Strategy for Renewable Plant Waste: Solid State Fermentation with Pleurotus ostreatus (MBI-2022) and Residual Biomass Valorization with Trichoderma spp.”, the study presents an innovative and targeted approach to the bioconversion of plant waste.
The research explores the use of ecologically safe and sustainable biotechnological methods to convert plant-derived waste into valuable products through fungal-based solid-state fermentation, employing Pleurotus ostreatus and Trichoderma species.
Significant scientific findings include the reduction of environmental impact, efficient resource utilization, and promotion of a circular bioeconomy. The results hold practical and scientific relevance for ecological sustainability and the application of green technologies.
