Course Description
This course examines the significance of mathematics in the general education system and explores the psychological and pedagogical foundations of learning mathematics, as well as its applications. It provides future mathematics teachers with a scientific and methodological basis for their professional practice, developing their skills in planning, presenting, and assessing instructional material while considering students’ age and cognitive characteristics. The course covers both traditional and modern teaching methods and discusses methodological approaches to teaching key content areas such as numbers and operations, algebra and analysis, geometry, and probability theory. Students are prepared for pedagogical practice by learning how to define lesson objectives, structure instructional content, and foster critical thinking and independent learning skills in their future students.
