Course Description
This course examines the theoretical and practical methodological approaches to teaching geography at the school level. Students analyze curriculum goals and learning outcomes, lesson planning principles, differentiated instructional methods for various age groups, modern pedagogical strategies, and assessment mechanisms. The course develops skills in presenting geographical content effectively, using maps, atlases, GIS, and other instructional resources, and applying interdisciplinary integration in geography education. Students also explore ways to develop learners’ geographical thinking, encourage independent inquiry, and engage students in practical and field-based activities. The aim of the course is to equip future geography teachers with effective, innovative, and creative teaching skills suited to contemporary educational environments.
