Course Description
This course introduces the theoretical and practical foundations of teaching chemistry in general education schools. It covers the aims and objectives of chemistry education, principles of instruction, modern pedagogical approaches, lesson planning, and the integration of chemistry with other natural sciences. Students explore a variety of teaching methods for developing learners’ knowledge and skills, learn how to organize laboratory work, conduct experiments safely, and utilize electronic resources and ICT tools effectively. The course also addresses assessment of student achievement, differentiated and inclusive instructional approaches, the selection of teaching materials, and the use of pedagogical innovations. By the end of the course, students acquire the skills needed to plan and conduct chemistry lessons, support student engagement, and implement effective, evidence-based teaching practices.
