Course Description
This course is aimed at forming foundational knowledge of the basic concepts, working principles, and technical–aesthetic fundamentals of sound engineering. The instructional process introduces the physical and acoustic properties of sound, types of microphones and their placement, the audio signal chain, the main stages of sound recording, basic concepts of mixing and mastering, as well as the key differences between studio and live sound engineering.
Within practical sessions, students gain introductory skills in organizing simple recording sessions, working with microphones, capturing audio material in a digital environment, applying basic audio editing functions, and monitoring sound. The course also provides students with initial professional preparation for understanding sound processes in musical events such as concerts, stage performances, ensemble and choral performances, and for working with sound technologies at a fundamental level.
