Course Description
This course introduces students to the field of linguistics with a particular focus on the English language. Students explore key linguistic concepts and theories by examining the structure, sound system, grammar, and vocabulary of English. The course covers major branches of linguistics, including phonetics, phonology, morphology, syntax, semantics, and sociolinguistics. Through readings, discussions, and practical language analysis tasks, students gain foundational knowledge of linguistic principles and how they apply to English.
