Course Description
This course introduces the fundamental theories of international trade, their implications for economic policy, and the trade strategies adopted by countries. It examines the economic outcomes of various trade policies, including tariffs, non-tariff barriers, protectionism, and liberalization, and analyzes the factors shaping international trade flows. The course also evaluates the role of global institutions—particularly the World Trade Organization and regional trade blocs—in influencing international trade governance. Furthermore, it develops students’ skills in modeling and analytically assessing international trade policies while considering their social, political, and environmental dimensions.
