Course Description
This block introduces the etiopathogenesis, diagnosis, treatment and preventive management of internal diseases. It develops skills in clinical assessment, interpretation of laboratory and instrumental findings, selection of evidence-based treatment strategies and preparation of individualized care plans. Patient monitoring, safety, ethical decision-making and multidisciplinary collaboration are emphasized at both hospital and primary-care levels.
In Pharmacology, students learn mechanisms of drug action, principles of dosing, drug interactions and the clinical management of toxicity.
In Emergency Medicine, they apply principles of initial assessment, preservation of vital functions and resuscitation in acute clinical situations.
In Cardiology, emphasis is placed on the early detection of cardiovascular diseases, ECG interpretation, and the planning of pharmacological and interventional therapies.
In Pulmonology, students learn the diagnosis of respiratory pathologies, oxygen therapy, ventilation and rehabilitation approaches.
In Infectious Diseases, they study mechanisms of transmission, antibacterial and antiviral therapies, and infection-control measures.
In Public Health, they focus on the prevention of non-communicable diseases, health promotion and epidemiological research methods.
In Family Medicine, patient-centered and long-term care planning, as well as the integration of services at family and community levels, are strengthened.
